Getting on to the last parts of the engine build and both it and my spare block(A series 1275)
have a threaded hole 1/2 way up on the back of the block that goes into the water jacket, seem
to remember m1000s had a drain tap but the mini should have a blank, its not unf so hedging bets
its BSP.

That hole is blind, it doesn't have a bolt in it. It was, I believe, for some sort of factory fixture.

If it's the 5/16" hole in middle of the rear of block, it was the Morris 1000 crankcase breather pipe bracket bolt hole.

If its at the RH side (as you look at the back of the block) and halfway up, it could be the water jacket drain.
I have one with a lovely brass tap in it.
Its quite likely to be 1/4 BSP tapered.
