A well run Wigton MC event - 24 tests (4 runs at 6 tests) based on Kirkbride airfield or across the road at some industrial/farm units. The slick organising meant that even with that number of tests and 29 cars, we were eating roast beef by 15:30 in the White Heather hotel!

Lots of different A series beasts competing, 3 or 4 Minis, some MG midgets, an A40 and I think I saw a Minor too.

We had one wrong test, mainly due to a questionable diagram, so thought that would be game over. However it seemed most people fell foul of the same and so it levelled the results.
The car seemed to be spot on though, and we did seem to be flying, especially after lunch.

Took the historic win over Dave Agnew in the 911 by a reasonable margin, but had to concede the FTD to two young lads in a Rover 25 who were putting in some eye wateringly quick times on the longer stuff, try as we might we just couldn't reel them in (or even hang onto them!).

Well done mate, there are two brothers by the name of Turner, Jamie & Owen used to go well in Rover 25s / Rover 200s in endurance and night events, go well set up right.

Many a happy day round Kirkbride !! , as I'm sure John A will agree !

You're right Steve many happy days on Kirkbride when they held rally stages there.
I only had time to be there for about an hour on Saturday but I was surprise by the lack of support by spectators at what I'm sure was a well run event
Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves especially the guys in the Rover 25

It as light on spectators, but I'm not sure how well publicised it was?
I guess one problem was the clash with the Tour of Cheshire.
