Rear brake back plates

Does anyone know when the changeover happened with these rear back plates? This is an early type...the follow on has a locating roll pin in the wheel cylinder.

OK...come on...someone must have a clue as to when these changed over!
Most likely happened around the same time the handbrake cables changed as well!...anyone with a thought!!!!
Here is a picture of the old style back plates, levers and the brake cable.

Well, the oldest car I have owned is a 62, and I haven't seen those before, so, before '62?

I wouldn't necessarily take this as gospel at this stage, but I have them on cars up to 296256 and 638878, when they changed from 5/8 to 3/4" wheel cylinders.

Hi Chris....this particular set came from a Cooper S...64ish!
Doesn't look like it was changed at any point.
