I have a 100mph dead speedo which has the 5 digit plus 10ths of a mile trip, only 3 lights. high beam (blue), indicator (green) and ignition (red)
I also noticed has the 90 and 100mph inverted??
At what time point did this type of speedo get introduced?
Was the early 997 Cooper fitted without the trip?
Cheers

Sounds about right. Inverted numbers, tenths trip, 3 jewels.

Is it 4479/06 ? If so, it was used from May 62 to Sept 64. It was the second type used on the 997 .

Wasn't the "green" the oil pressure lamp?
... with the indicator being on the end of the stalk...

No lamp for Oil, they had a gauge.

I'm pretty sure they came in after the 997 Cooper, though, I'm no expert on the model. I seem to recall in my mates 997 the green one in the speedo wasn't used.

No gauge in a 1964 Morris Minor 1098 that I work on, only a lamp!
I was guessing that the 997 Cooper speedo would be the same...
(or at least very similar).
