Hi Folks (& Spider- I now you will be listening!!)
A mate of mine is helping his mate fit hidden Cosworth type injectors to his TR6 SU bodies.
Is this something that is feasible to do with Twin SUs on a Mini? I cant be the first person to consider this.
Cheers. Mark

Bhahaha,,,,

Giday Rolesy!

I don't have enough experience with Injection to make comment, but I do recall reading where someone has done this. On the face of it, I can see why not, but refer to my first comment!

SU's work in a similar way to Injection in that they meter the air flow (by raising the piston) and meter the fuel (by the needle profile) accordingly. They just don't take in to account all the other variables and as fine as they do atomise the fuel, Injectors (which which work at much higher pressures) do so much better.

You got me thinking, so had a quick search and came across this link, so it has been done.

Northampton Motorsport already do it to Webers. Can't see why some clever machining cant sllow the same on an SU.

It would seem that the conversion of the SU s could be relatively straight forward but the mapping of the injection could be more of a problem on our siamese port A series.
According to this writeup by Emerald you would be better off with a single modified injector SU on an A series!
