Hi, Original Mini cooper and cooper S is equipped with Lucas HA12 12V coil, I have encountered coils made by Lucas with No. 11 P 12V, CL1, is there any difference between the two? HA12 and 11A 12?
Are they interchangable?

Thanks!

With the chance of entering a minefield, here it goes;

The 11P12 probably has the Lucas 45334 number and is called the Lucas Super coil, it has an internal resistance of 3.2 ohm don't now what power rating is for that.

The HA12 Lucas 45169 (among others!!) has an internal resistance of 3 ohm and rated 30kV.

Then there's the SA12 (the red topped Sports coil)Lucas 431601 that has an internal resistance of 2.7 ohm and rated 40kV.

Hope this helps, the coils are not a direct replacement.
