Hi all
Does anyone know whether a clutch housing casing from an 850 will fit my 1071 engine? Took the 1071 out of the car today and it is really pitted! Failing that, does anyone have one available?
Tim.

Depends what you call the clutch housing.. the "wok" or the drop gear casing???
As long as you match the idler gear bearing in the drop gear case to that of the gearbox casing you'll be OK.
Cheers, Ian

Would be worth checking the thick rib on top of your original (if it is the original) flywheel housing to see if it has a code stamped there.

The 1070 housing & the 850 of a similar period are to all intents & purposes identical.

I recently picked one up for my engine, however I was quite surprised at the code that was stamped in the rib on the top of the housing. Will have to post a picture of it later.
Which codes have you guys seen on them? As the one on mine isn't am AEG one

If it is a 1071 housing it will more than likely start 1P followed by three or four digits - it denotes the engine spec.

That's a standard 1071 i.e. 3.765:1 final drive and std ratio gears.
