Just purchased Lower Door Frame - RH Mk1/2 - 1959-1969 and it is of extreme poor quality.
The bodyshop have advised that they are unable to fit/carryout an acceptable standard of repair with this panel.
Are originals available ? The panel supplied is repo
Thanks

Re: Door Frame Lower - RH Mk1/2
Can you give a bit more info on the panel in question? Where did it come from, what make is it. What exactly does it do / where does it fit, do you have a part number?
TBH I find it hard to believe that ANY aftermarket panel is so far off being right it is unusable.
A bit more info would be much appreciated.
You may be able to find the part in question in the M-Machine catalogue.

Your body man is right! I can buy those for about £8, but you would be better buying the m-machine version for about £30. You will save yourself a lot of money, and get a better job.

Re: Door Frame Lower - RH Mk1/2
I found the same...couldn't believe the difference in an original and what is available...yes, mine came from M Machine...I ended up using bits from an old panel and making new bits in our shop.
This is a problem right across the board on most of the panels. They just don't fit properly and the edges are not the same angle.
I don't understand why they can't make a jig to press out panels as per the originals!
I made my own to make the front floor wells (recessed part of the front floor)...tried numerous front panels...none were even close. The fluting is incorrect...the edges are square instead of rounded etc. etc.
You are lucky you have a good body shop......many would have just gone ahead and welded it in there and made a real mess.
Best bet is to source an old body...or part of one and use that....not an easy task....sometimes a NOS part will pop up.

Re: Door Frame Lower - RH Mk1/2
I regularly use the M-machine door bottoms, and after a few runs through the bead roller to correct the angles, they seem to fit without too much hassle. My biggest issue is that I can not seem to come up with a tool to install the drain tube like the factory did.
