Bumpers

I need to get a pair of bumpers for my car, front especially to assist with any adjustments required to the lip on the new panel.

Couple of questions -
What was correct on a 1961 car? I understand that there were a few variations in treatment of the ends of them and the overall profile.
What bumpers available today are the best quality in terms of fit and finish? I presume the originals would have been chrome, but it seems that the chrome ones available today are not that great and stainless is better?
Will a modern profile work with the overriders that I've obtained from another 60's car and whilst these need rechroming, will that look out of place on a stainless bumper?

Thanks,
Gary

Interested in this also as mine is a 61 Morris Van.

The only difference I can see from others is that is five bolt(stud) instead of later three. Not sure if mine is chrome or stainless...whats the easiest way to tell> (I need a new one )

Gary, although I can't help with best supplier of bumpers, I can say that my early '62 has stainless bumpers with chrome overriders and you can't tell the difference unless scrutinising very close up.

I also have the genuine stainless bumpers on my mk1 with the chrome over riders and they look fine, the fit of bumpers is as good as you can get, only issue is the return on the ends presumably to prevent injury. I inspected loads of different so called quality bumpers and would only buy these ones.

These are probably the best quality and fit but have the rolled over ends for safety critical homologation (1996).
