Long centre branch exhaust.

Post by 36inter »

I would like some advice and guidance please, if I extended the two down pipes by about 18" (about 45cm to those of a more modern persuasion) before it goes into the Y piece do you think it will have any effect on performance, either way. I seem to remember some of the distance were considered important, not sure if this was one of them.

Ta.

dont know about performance but are you talking a fixed extension or just another piece of pipe and join?.
If you make it fixed then i imagine getting the exhaust in and out with the engine in place would be fun..

The lengths of the LCB have been pretty well developed. If the likes of Swiftune are using what on the face of it are "standard" looking LCB's I suspect that there isn't much to be gained in this mod. And as has already been said it will become impossible to remove without taking the engine out.
