Cam drive conundrum

So, having unpacked my new Minispares oil pump and trial fitted the new Kent camshaft to freshly installed cam bearings, I find that the pump has a slot drive and the cam has a spider drive! Bu66er :evil:

It's a bit too late to change the cam as it was supplied around 1 year ago by my machinist, so what is the best way forward here?

I could not see a spider drive pump on Minispares so any suggestions?

An adapter came up on the 'net but it was in the USA and was more money than a new pump :(

Any advice?

It's a 1300GT based fast road engine build BTW

Here's a Spyder Drive Pump;-

See if someone here has the drive adaptor or APT in the US have them at respectable money.

Another option is to make an adaptor to fit the Cam and convert it to Slot Drive, different (and easier) to those that Mini Mania have. I don't have a photo on this PC, but it fits down in the Cam like a Pin Drive Pump would, then drill the shaft of the Cam though the adaptor and pin them together.

<Edit: Here's a fairly priced Spider http://minikingdomonline.com.au/product ... adapter-2/ >

Yes! :)

For sale anywhere?

Mark, you've been selling holes recently, now time to manufacture something a bit more substantial?

:lol:
