From www.triumphdvd.co.uk - Sixty years after the famous Abingdon Competitions Dept. was formed in 1955 many of the team and over fifty Works cars gathered at Silverstone. This DVD records every moment and takes an extensive look at the Works history with Bill Price acting as guide and Graham Robson presenting.
Filmed at Silverstone in July 2015, this is the historic record of the 60th anniversary gathering of the former Abingdon ‘Works’ Competition Department. Over 50 important vehicles are present along with many of the ‘Works’ drivers, co-drivers, management, mechanics and other personnel. An occasion that is unlikely to ever be repeated but thanks to this release you can now enjoy the weekend up close and personal and actually better than if you’d have been there yourself!
Graham Robson and Bill Price are our hosts along with Peter Browning. We meet many of the people who made this Competitions Department such a legend - successful drivers such as Paddy Hopkirk, Brian Culcheth and Jack Sears. Plus many others including Harold Brooks who co-drove an MG Magnette in the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally, the first ever event for the new Abingdon team.
