Registration plate light Mk2 Cooper

Would anybody know whether the registration plate light body on a Mk2 Cooper should be black or chrome. Someone has borrowed my Parnell book for the last 2 years...

Pretty certain it's chrome. I'm quite proud of my black one on my boggo thou

Black lamp covers were only used on basic saloons and commercials as far as I know (maybe Mokes as well ?).

From what I have seen all Mk2 Cooper & Cooper S cars have chrome number plate lights

OK, wasn't sure on those. Guessed chrome as they were sort of 'upmarket' vans

My Mk2 Traveller has black ones on, I've now changed them to "up market" chrome.

So the 6 I had blasted and painted are no good then.
