Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good 12v ign coil, it's for a 1275s using standard points and condenser.
I've used after market ones but the don't seem to last.
Anyone know which are the best ones to use?
Cheers.

Lucas LA12 if you can find a good one.
This was the original fitment coil for many BMC/Leyland cars in the late 60's and early 70's

Second hand LUCAS coils are all MUCH better than most of the modern shit coils.
My preference in order would be
1st - Lucas HA12 Coil (Brilliant high load standard coil.
2nd - Lucas LA12 Coil (Standard on all Minis Coopers & Ss as well as most other BMC Vehicles)
3rd - Lucas SA12 Sports Coil (Can be very expensive nowadays, but a superb coil that more or less lasts for ever.
I have not had a great deal of success with new coils, so tend to stick with good old ones.

the best 'new' coil we sell is the luminition blue coil
it has a huge ballast resistor that attaches to the bracket.
ive not had one that has failed yet
ive even got one fitted to my dads 1935 Derby Bentley!
my experience of the modern gold coils has been documented on here before....
