Gearbox casting number

I have a friend with a 22G382 gearbox casing. What is it from and what is the correct casing for a 1071 S?

its a 3 sync b type box magic wand used in elf / hornet

I think (waits to be corrected 
) that some early cars had 22G68's and the later (most) cars had 22G190's, there may have even been a bleed off into the 333 casings right at the end of the run

What I have found over the years is that there are three types of the 22G382 3-synchro B-type gearbox all with the 22G231 laygear. Where I have seen this box original from the following vehicles:- magic wand box were from the Elf & Hornet, Mini remote diff housing box also from the Elf & Hornet and with the 1100 type diff casting in the MG, Riley, Vanden Plas and Wolseley 1098cc ADO16 cars.
Most tended to have a 3.76 final drive and were rubber joint type.

I'm surprised you found 3.765 diffs in ADO16 1100 3 syn boxes. I only ever found 4.1's.

But again I have a very early Wolseley 1098cc car and it has a 4.1 final drive believed to be original to the car so God knows?
