A great read, especially for those of us around in the '60's and '70's.

Wow if only we could travel back in time!

What an entry!

I also enjoyed Barrie's History page, simpler and more fun times! ;)

Where do you get all this stuff from Surf?

So Peter Sutcliffe, I assume the Huddersfield one, not the other more well known ex West Yorks resident? Didn't realise he ever raced a Mini as far as I knew he was only into Jags and GT40's 'n things. He was dating my wife's sister at the time, used to come around and pick her up in the ex works D type, sometimes comes to the Huddersfield Motorsport Reunion. In fact thinking about it put it your diary for 2011, third Thursday in July.

best

Edward

Hey Surf, can you come up with a better grid than that? Wow! I know, where was Graham Hill that day?

Sad to report that Barrie Maskell died last weekend.

It was only after Paul flagged up his website http://www.barriemaskell.com/ that I ended up getting in touch with him , which ended up in a Cooper World article. Really interesting guy. If you've not paid a visit to his website please do, it's a great read and what a life he had!

RIP Barrie.

Slight thread revival, there's a cracking clip of this race just popped up on Facebook. never seen it before! You can just see Barrie Maskell in '838 FUG' (red and black car) at the back of the field, and of course Mick Clare's big smash.
