Steel wheel colours

Am I right in thinking a 63 Super Deluxe would have had silver steel wheels behind the wheel trims? What cars had white wheels?

Silver wheels not introduced until about 1967 on UK cars I think.

What about Cooper and Cooper S? Were they also white?
