I've not taken one apart but from a partial disintegrated one I have, there are a couple of rivets on the bottom side that join the two ends together. I'd drill these out and then just gently work the frame out. I suspect you can't get the rubber seal in the frame so I'd build back up with some black mastic in there.

However, I'm sure I've heard of people swapping the hardware and brackets about to make the drivers side fit the passenger and vice versa giving some better chrome for the outside...
I've got a 69 Mini with a 1046, Cooper Head and a four on the floor.

I've had 2 MKI Minis. In both Minis the frames are held together by 2 small counter sunk screws on both ends of the hinge.

Re the rubber for 1/4 lights I had access to glazing strip rubber on a roll
but this size is now deleted from suppliers catalogue. If I have to do another
I may try commercial/plant inner tube and trim after fitting

Hi
Thanks for the input.
It's my understanding that MR2 1/4 light frames are different. Mike

Larry is correct. Undo the 2 small cross headed screws at either end of the hinge & they fall apart quite easily. The difficult bit is getting the screws out.

Dr S, for English built cars, at least, the single connection in the bottom middle is Mk III and later. Mk II (the worst ones) have top and bottom in the middle. Mk I is the front hinged version as mentioned by others.
