Dalkey Vintage Festival.....Busy Weekend for ORX 777F

Well it was a busy weekend for the wee mini this weekend as Dermot Simpson collected the car after it's appearance yesterday in Killyleagh and brought it down to Dublin to Vintage Festival which was slightly misleading as it was a car show with 100+ cars in attendance. Paddy Hopkirk and Alec Poole were there also as was the replica of 33 EJB.

Having seen photos and heard various stories during the restoration of ORX 777F it was great to see it in the metal and marvel at the great work done by Robert Dickson, Maurice Brown, Sam Baird and others. It is a credit to them to get the car back to the condition it is in. Helmut Holfeld, a cousin of one of the former owners of the car Richie Holfeld, remarked that the car is as he remembers it after Richie purchased many years ago.

a few photos I got today

I would have loved to have got down to see this event but as always to much on over the same weekend. Totally agree with you ORX 777F is a credit to Robert Dickson, Maurice Brown and Sam Baird for their detailed work. Including James Wilson they all pulled out all the stops to put on some display in Killyleagh which was very much appreciated.

Perhaps next year we will get interest from Southern Ireland and across the Irish Sea ;) ;)

Similar problem with all the stuff on, then other weekends there's nothing to go to. James Wilson told me about Killyleagh a few weeks back and I was trying to sort out things so I could head up then chatting to RJD at the Summer Lanes he told me the car was going to Dalkey so that made life a little bit easier.
