If I put HS4 Carbs on my mk3 coopers, does anyone know what mods would need to be made to the manifold and airbox? What would the period be?

The Manifold would have been a 12G1263. These are identifiable by the flange that the carbs bolted up to, they are square-ish in shape and could take either HS2's, HS4's or be drilled for HS6's. This is also the Manifold that was factory fitted to the Aust Clubman GTs built to SPO 28 as Highway Patrol Cars for the Police.

The particular Air Filters used on these were locally manufactured here in Aust and as far as being Air Filters go they were rubbish.

I have to say, I've not seen an Airbox Style Air Filters fitted with Twin HS4s on a Mini, though it may have been done, but I've not come across anything from the factory that way. They seemed to use separate Paper style air filters.

I believe that Mark F (Mk1) converted an air box for bigger carbs (neat job) it may be on the old forum ;)
