Rear door clips

I'm installing new weather stripping around the rear doors of my 62 estate
Do the clips go on the rubber first and THEN into the door?
For those without an estate....these are the same clips used on the boot lid and seal.

Thanks coop.
My doors are still fitted, so I imagine an even "fiddlier" job

Job Done! Was easier than I feared.
...of course now the doors wont close...aaarg. Will have to pull it out and sit it in the sun for a while, maybe that will help

Hijack of an older post...
Does anyone know of a tip or trick to removing the clips from the doors, they seem to be a one-way deal, I have pulled and twisted, but only seem to manage to break them.
Cheers, Sean

Pulling & breaking is the popular method. But you can remove them by compressing them with a clip removal tool or a pair of scissors will work sometimes.

I use a small long nose pliers and by compressing the inner leg of the clip I can get most out but there are some that will not come out and breaking them is the only option.

I have been trying with a set of large tweezers, to about the same effect, good to know I am doing it "right"!
