I'm wondering what the horsepower liimit of a cone filter might be. Definitely more top end without it fitted, and no its not dirty.
One worrying thing is nowhere is K&N embossed in the metal like the pics on google. I'm sure it was in the right box when I bought it from a famous northern mini parts emporium.

If you have Vizards tu ning the A series book and the filter part number it does give several hp ratings for k&n filters
