Not suggesting it will not be value for money but to me 125 pages (according to Amazon - the actual publisher omits to mention it) is not really a book.

As modest a publication as it is it certainly looks like a book to me! I know (in hindsight!) that John had issues stretching the budget to fulfil copyright demands on photographs, which is why it's a little light on page numbers. That's a real shame because I've acres of material on John that I'm sure could have been used, many images without copyright issues. The image reproduction in the book also suffers a little due to the page and print quality but it's a good read non the less!

Whilst on Amazon ordering Smokin Rhodes I also ordered My Mini Cooper Its Part In My Breakdown by James Ruppert. It arrived today and looks to be a bit different to the usual Mini history, with autobiographical bit on the author own Mini ownership, including the Cooper he has owned for 30 years. Once read I'll post a quick review.

I've read mine so it's now for sale, if anyone wants it (postage plus a drink).
Sadly, it's not worth 15 quid but it's a good effort for any 87 year old bloke especially considering the after effects of his last Brands accident.

Not watched that Whitmore one before, will do later and it's a shame he never brought a book out about his racing career. There's also an MCR video of Whitmore , Christabel Carlisle, Whizzo and Rhodes on a Q&A panel from the 90's.
Whitmore leads Hopkirk and Carlisle here...
