Couple pics of my dad's Autocross Mini from his 1978/79 season - very competitive car.
Started life as a '68 Mk2 850, but fitted with full running gear from MG1300 with +20 bore, 1275GT brakes, 4.5 reverse rims on the front and 4.5 S on the rear, and everything lightened where possible.
Hopefully come the winter I'll start a replica build, but keeping mine road legal as a replacement and more competitive trials and multivenue autotest car.

Alan (Supersonic), when we were chatting at the Argory, you mentioned Decamount Autocross. If you had any photos of dad's Mini from around then could I take a look at them sometime.

Ian,
You are young in that photograph, nice to have
Those photographs remind me of the middle seventies when I did Autocross and Rallycross. Back then Autocross was very popular in County Down with tracks at Kinallen very near Dechomet, Loughinisland, Downpatrick and Ballykinlar. I never raced at Dechomet as it clashed with the Ballykinlar event I recall.
I will dig out my old scrapbooks and if there are photographs of your dad's Mini you are welcome to have them. Are you going to the Kilbroney Vintage Show on Saturday 20th June? If you are you are very welcome to join us on The 1100 Club stand which will be full of Minis and interesting BMC & Leyland cars.

That'd be great, thanks.
(oh and that's actually my brother in the pic, with my Granny)
I think dad might have raced at Loughinisland as well.

All being well I'll be at Kilbroney. That'd be great. I'll drop you a private message on here about that.
