Two Festivals on again this year, Brands 27/28th June and Oulton on August 8th.

No historics at Oulton this year, which sucks the big one, why can't they jus run an all-comers race to fit some in? :?

I'm happy that there are no Historics at Oulton, it means they will be at the Croft Nostalgia instead. :)

MSV should check the HSCC calendar before fixing their dates as the Brands one also clashes with the HSCC Cadwell meeting.

Is there any chance of a ' Mk1 ' display at Croft then.

The Newcastle and Durham MCR will be having a stand, all are welcome.

I have started a thread here with details and entry form links

Technically, we're only allowed 10 cars on our stand, which we probably already have for both days, BUT they don't seem to mind most of the other minis there joining us so we often end up with nearer 20! I'd get your form in quick though, as the event is always oversubscribed. Good luck ;)

'might get an entry for Sunday's Sanwa Trophy race but as I cannot qualify on the Saturday, they say I must start at the back of the grid.
Ultimately though, it will come down to whether The Wife lets me go.....or not!

I like your honesty!

You should get a Goodwood entry with that car, be a nice change to see a new car / face on track!

It's very nice of you to say that but I fear that will be in the hands of others.....a few years ago I embarrassed myself by trying to curry favour with the Lord and his assistants but fortunately Simon Diffey pulled me to one side before I made a complete tit out of myself. He told me that I had simply not been in the historic game for long enough and therefore had not done enough "hard yards" to earn consideration. In retrospect this seems fair enough. Hopefully, I haven't left it too late although it does annoy me that some celebrities get fast-tracked and that bloody BMW St Mary's entry a few years back made my blood boil. I was so pleased it failed spectacularly - that photo is still used as my screensaver!

P.S. Sanwa entry just paid for and accepted, so It looks like I'll be there on the Sunday after all! :D

I'll hopefully be taking my Clubman along for a nose about, although the lack of Historics is a little off putting.. :?

How can you have a Mini Racing "festival" without historics?

Bloody stupid.

Even an all-comers race would be better. I don't think there was enough interest from historic racers last year.

the problem with Oulton is the lack of racing on a Sunday, so you either have qualifying on a Saturday race on Monday, or have a very short / busy single race day.

I guess this is the reason that most people don't bother with it - particularly if you are going for a single 20 min race...

Anyways, you've always got the Gold Cup at the end of August, which is a cracking event come rain or shine.

PS I'll be at Brands on Sunday for the Sanwa race, make sure those cars are kept nice and shiny during practice ;)
