'67 Morris Super De-Luxe
I bought this on a little bit of a whim in December but wasn't really sure what I was going to do with it but starting the restoration on James's MK1 has inspired me to start on my own.
It's a '67 Morris Super De-Luxe hydro car and was formerly automatic but that wont be returning. I may well do away with the hydro suspension as well to keep it simple.
Externally it's pretty rough but it has been off the road since the '90s.
It's got one new wing on it but having been in bare metal for 20 years it's now rather shagged.
The passenger A-panel, A piller and step sill aren't much better.
The front floors are a little to flintstones looking for my liking.
On the plus side most of the trim is still present and is in very good nick.
Here it is after an evenings worth of disassembly. hopefully another evenings work will see me ready to starting chopping the scabby bits off.

Nice project - my first car was an Almond Green mk1 850! Let me know if you need any parts for the restoration.

Did Stevie Wonder put the rear floor ashtray in?
On another note, the car looks to be un-restored, can you take a picture of the cardboard cover over the rotodip hole in the rear bulkhead from both sides please?
I have it in my mind that all the ones I can recall seeing were painted body colour but would not swear to it.

I haven't got the seat back out yet but here's the cover from the boot side. It definitely looks like it was on the body before painting. I'll get a picture from the other side this evening.

Good project. Funnily enough A colleague has a 1967 Almond Green Mk1 which he's restoring at the moment - a very similar car to yours although manual. His car has had a lucky survival - I bought it 20years or so ago as a "spares or repairs" car which had failed its MOT on rust - I was running a similar car as an everyday runabout at the time and I nicked a few odds & sods off it. My colleague David bought it off me, did a few bits of welding to get it through an MOT and ran it for a year or two before abandoning it in his garden until last year! As Mk1s have now become worthwhile restoring he is now busy fitting new floors etc etc and the car will return to the road in a year or so Amazingly, after all those years in his garden it is still intact enough to be restorable.

I also have a 1967 Mk1 Super Deluxe of my own which is just a "sunny days car" really. Largely original, still with hydrolastic which I greatly prefer for the ride comfort. Still has it's original buzzy 850 which runs like a dream. You'll see from the wheels that it has Cooper S disc brakes fitted (somewhat un-necessary in my view) which was the previous owner's preference. A great fun little car. Hope you enjoy yours as much once it's finished

All my cars are earlier than 67 so this may have changed between 65 & 67.

My red car is also an original unrestored car and 1967 build. I wonder if Cowley built and Longbridge built cars were different? I don't have an answer but it was also pained on my previous Mini.

My cardboard covers are painted to some degree. The 63 is definitely green but the 62 could be either way with a selection of paints blown over it.

The interior isn't out yet but the front end has come off as well as the front frame. Just the rear windows, headlining and rear trim to come out before it goes off to be blasted.
I also had a nice stack of panels + a rear frame turn up from Mini Spares, it should certainly keep me busy.

You should modify the front panel,
You have to blank the hole for the air, and change the number plate bracket

I've kept the original slam panel, indicator plinths and number plate brackets so I can put then into the peal panel. I've got a template of the old end plates so I can make new versions of those as well.

I haven't had a chance to do anything on this recently but I did decide to take the plunge and have the body blasted to see just what I'm dealing with.
I had hoped that to only do front floor pans but both inner sills also need replacing so I'll be doing doing two half floors instead.
The rear half of the the rain gutter also need replacing. Fortunately I have a section cut from a shell that I can use here.
The back half of the boot floor also need attention but that's nothing new for Minis.
One big plus is that both rear quarters are incredibly straight.

That's quite a project you have there Tupers, Mini car doesn't mean mini restoration as you know! Will you be keeping the original colour? Just love almond green

It's staying almond green but I'm going with a contrasting roof. I've got back onto this for a couple evenings work on this week starting at the back.
The boot floor was particularly bad around the valance closing panel gussets and the battery box was a bit nasty so they came off.
I made the new section from on large sheet rather than mess about with two or three smaller repair sections although I wont be welding it in just yet.
Both rear wheel arches have gone at the back so they're got the chop as well.
After making template and cutting the repair sections I used a wood block and chisel to put make the joggle on the inner edge of the arch.
Here they are clamped in. I just need to pop some holes and weld them on.
I also decided to push the boat out and got a new fliches and a pair of half floors for Mini Spares.

Like the idea of gold Minilites with the Almond Green body. Not so sure about the gold roof but sometimes these things look better visually than in the mind.
Think I'll use new inner wings on my next project rather than trying to repair what's there.

You mention it has Cooper S brakes yet it also appears the wheels do not stick out past the arches? Is that the case or instead an optical illusion in the photo?
