Hi,

trying to come up with a suitable position to fit an oil temp probe.
Welding / machining not a problem just looking for some good suggestions?
Many thanks

If you have an oil cooler fitted fit it in the pipe between the block & the cooler.

Mines fitted to a welded on take-off on the oil filter cannister, old type. However it reads very low so I either have a poor gauge or its not a good place to fit it. This was done on the Twini-Mini that John Cooper crashed in, on the rear engine not the front.

I can take a picture if it helps.

I use one of these

Not unlike Mark's solution, but I'd never use hose clamps on my oil feed.

Totally depends on what type of hose you need, but I agree that not using hose clips is a good policy.

Picture attached. As I mentioned I am not convinced this is the right place, I actualy thought the gauge was broken until i spotted it moving slightly in traffic on the way back from Blyton. If you want a closer picture I can rustle one up for you later today.
