hi all, can anybody tell me what side of the floor starter switch the wire going up to the dash area(ignition?) should be connected? im guessing it should go to the battery side giving a permanent feed ?

The wiring diagram has a Brown cable going to the Voltage regulator and that looks to be connected to the live side from the battery.
The white / red goes from the floor starter to the ignition switch and looks to be on the starter motor side.

thanks, ive looked at that diagram to.problem is ive only got one wire?

Just checked my 61 MK1 and there is only the Brown cable on mine as well.

Yes it was, although i was looking at it using a mirror on a stick.

Has anyone got a good wiring diagram for a late 1960, all the ones I have are for 64 onwards?

I thought I had all my wiring sorted, taped the loom up, and then found a couple of wires that I hadn't labled up...doh!

So if you've only got a single brown wire going to the start button, where does the red/white wire go to and from? Im trying to work out exactly what is used for?

I've got a 61 to 64 diagram and that shows a white/red cable going from the start button to the back of the ignition switch.
I've scanned the diagram so I'll send it to you.

Most of it seems the same, but the odd few I was confused about all make sense now!
