Hi,

I´m just about to overhaul my HS diff and what I got are some fibre washers
instead of the original brass ones.
Does anybody have experience with these? Are they reliable?
Obviously they don´t make those brass ones any more..... :?

Do you mean the Brass planet wheel thrust washers or the actual diff units fibre thrust washer ?

Hi,
thanx for your reply!
What I was taking about are the "Brass planet wheel thrust washers ", thats correct.
I got two new small ones with four holes in them and they are made of brass.
And I got the two large ones which are nowerdays made of fiber

I think you're mixing parts here...

This one is still available, but it's rubbish. Shouldn't be allowed to sell it. You need to buy the ones with an "ear" and midify the diff cage to suit.
This one:

If the diff cage has got wear in it at all, I bin it.

This BTA101 was once made of brass too, afaik!
I've seen quite a few fibre washers worn away...

If someone wants to reproduce them out of brass; I'm in for a set! :)

OK,

that´s what may happen when English is not your mothertongue.

These are the two trust washers for the small planet wheels. I got them and I think they are correct.

Here we have the two big wheels and the original Copper / Brass thrust washers.
In the front of this picture you see the two new ones (for replacement) that I´ve got.
They are made of fiber. They don´t fit exactly (a bit to tight).
Does anybody have experience with these? I appreciate your comments!

They are correct, but they are rubbish. Get the new planet gear washers.
