Colours

Post by Etienne B. »

Mark,

If I am not wrong, you had somewhere on your site an early BMC flier about colours and interior material.
Can't find it out, though,
Would you help me ?

Thanks Etienne

Thanks You Mark,

I seem to remember of a colour printed leaflet representing samples,
but this doc is even better !
Well, what I am looking for actually :
we have in the garage two 850 Mk1 : one clipper blue 1960 Morris and one surf blue 1962 Austin.
both have grey fleck interiors, but the shade of the blue leather cloth is definitely different, the one in the Austin being definitely more ... ahem ... surf blue !!!!!!! I will post some pictures of the two intriors quickly.
I must say I am not up to the job with 850 detailing  , and I was curious to know the name and dates of fabrication of the different shades of colours and interiors :?: .

that is a BIG question !

I know exactly what you mean.

The monotone interiors had a very turquoise (Surf) blue vinyl & the earlier colour & grey fleck interior had a more grey blue vinyl with less of a texture to it. I will have a look & see if I can find a name for this earlier blue vinyl.
