Well,

Some of you may remember, my dad bought this cooper back in 2009, for the sum of £800.

Came with all its MOT's and receipts from new, and has just over 20,000 miles on the clock. We got the original engine, but there were no seats, carpets or headlining.

I started the strip down with him, and I got this far:

It's been moved to a few units since, and ended up shoved in the corner of my garage, and slowly got piled over with boxes and all sorts....

I finished an elf resto for a customer, and it was waiting for the paint shop. I had about a weeks wait, so I did some tidying, and uncovered the Mk2! I took the decision that it needed to be started again, so i dragged it out, swapped it with my mk3 and picked up where I left off 6 years ago!!

I had a heritage healboard, that I had to adapt as I'm guessing it was an MPI one...

I tacked it to some box to keep it in line, then chopped and re welded:

Next I had to repair the bottom of the rear bin:

Then it was on with the floor:

Swapped it over ready for the next side!

Those sills are about as bad as my chelsea ones were!

£800 was a bargain though.
