The MSA has approved this year’s Scottish Sprint & Hillclimb Championship regs, with the addition of three new classes to cater for classic and thoroughbred cars. These classes are D1 Road Legal, D2 Modified, and D3 Competition Cars

(D) CLASSIC AND THOROUGHBRED CARS
Classes D1, D2 and D3 are open to all cars manufactured prior to 1 January 1980. Cars manufactured up until 31/12/1981 may be eligible so long as they comply
with the technical specification as of 31/12/1979.
Only period modifications are permitted with the exception of tyres (allowances will be made for older cars (e.g. veteran or vintage cars), where the available options are limited due to the size and type of tyre required). In addition to these age restrictions, the Classic and Thoroughbred Division is split into three distinct classes as follows;
• Class D1 for Classic and Thoroughbred Road Cars complying with requirements for Division A (Road Cars)
• Class D2 for Classic and Thoroughbred Modified Cars complying with requirements for Division B (Modified Cars)
• Class D3 for Classic and Thoroughbred Competition cars complying with requirements for Division C (Competition Cars)

Maybe if I can remember where I left it. Had a chat with another Scottish Maguire owner at the weekend who was suggesting we get them both out.

Cracking idea. Where are the he events held. Would like to maybe take the mk1but not zoomy zoomyness for it......wife won't let me....(and repairs are expensive)

Good question Iain, the 1275GT is still in primer and all needs put back together. But it does have competition history, it was used by Sharon Stroud in the North-East hillclimb series in the early 80's. When I got it a couple of years back it had been laid up for about 28 years...

I went to the boness hill climb for the first time last year. It was a lovely sunny day and looked like good fun. More casual than Doune Hill Climb, and less scarey.
At the time it made me think about trying it this year just for fun. It would be interesting if any others were thinking about entering in minis.
last year I saw two minis.

I entered a sprint at Kames about 10yrs ago R1 class 1275gt and was 2nd to a Scottish guy in a lightweight Nova, plastic windows etc., when I suggested he should be in the M1 class I was told the car was legal as they were running under the Scottish Sprint Championship R1 rules, local club, local driver, I don't know if it's still the same. Not good for attracting new competitors,I don't think I ever went back.

Bo'ness would my venue of first choice, really friendly atmosphere but still very competitive.

I had a chat with the person running the event last year to get an idea what would be involved ( because I have never entered a sprint ) he told me to enter their hill climb all I would have to do is join the club and pay their entry fee. I wasn't interested in getting involved with other hill climb's or championships.

Membership of the Bo'ness Hill Climb Revivial club is £30 a year, and last year the I think the entry was £120 which covered both Saturday and Sunday.
