Recently found a 12a185 in a garage. Ik looks like a small bore head. And has 30mm inlet valves and 25mm exhaust valves. On which engine was This head used?

My 1962 997 Cooper came with one of those. A rare beast I believe (but not worth much ).
Confusing, as I think that the same casting number was used for a Cooper S head.

Exactly right. 2 completely different castings with the same casting number. The books seem to suggest 12G202 as the 997 head but this one was used on early models.
