Heater squirrel wheel fan removal

Post by rolesyboy »

Stripped a heater to almost nothing. Annoyingly I can't fathom how to remove the sprung collet that hold the plastic fan to the motor shaft. Does anybody know how I can do this please? Cheers. Mark

Sand down the rust on the shaft, oil it and the fan should pry off. Mine looked much worse not being touched in 50 years but slid off with little effort.

Thanks. How do you pry it off. Do I just lever it off from the underneath of the fan

Oops, I broke it. Fan cracked! Well at least it's off now. Anybody know of a supplier of the plastic fan? Cheers
