Hello,

Ive recently moved to Sydney Australia and befriended a fellow Mini lover and found out he was 1969 Rhodesian Saloon car Champion, he still has the car which is a 970S. I thought you would find these pictures interesting. As will as this 970S he has another 970 race car and also a 1071S.

I thought Ivan was retiring?!

I think he's got an 8 port as well!

Welcome to Aus! :D

Beautiful car! The body looks pristine - appears to have no rust, something we rarely escape here in North America :)

That looks absolutely beautiful!

I would love to hear more as I am particularly interested in the Mini story in Rhodesia having travelled there quite a bit some years ago & having had family out there until they were hounded out by Mugabe's henchmen.

Wipe the dust off, get it road registered and enjoy :D

Interesting set up with the radiator, whats the story there (I feel another epic MK1 performance thread is about to come along 8-) )

Fantastic history and story of the Glasby family. Bruce in Zim has some stunning minis including a killer 7 port (pics below), a Le Mans Marcos and a factory 1071 Traveller.
