New section coming to the MK1 Site soon!

Following a couple of requests & a few good submissions I am starting on a new section on the Main MK1 site.

I am updating the accessory section & will be including complete scans of some of the accessory supplements printed in the Motoring press throughout the 1960's. I have literally dozens of these in my collection.

The reason for this is that original accessories are invariably more expensive than I can afford nowadays & by using these old articles as an archive the salient information is kept.

Here's a little taster from Autocar back in July 1963, courtesy of a good friend of the MK1 site Garry Honywill.

But useful if you have a family of 4 who are going on holiday in the family Mini.

Very few households had 2 cars in the 60's and this would have been a practical all be it ugly accessory.

Hmmmm interesting they are cast, on a seat bracket !!, i would think a seat bracket is under constant amounts of high stress.

As far as i am aware cast iron has no yield point it just break's, whoops i wonder if anyone if found themselves suddenly in the unable to reach the pedals lol.

cool brochure though :)

They aren't cast iron, they are alloy.

I remember when I was a wee tacker seeing one of them boot extenions, made me want to reach to an axe! Most folk out this way just bought a Morris 1100 if they wanted more boot space.
