New FIA build from Barcelona

Good morning!

After a long time wanting it, I will show the beginning of my FIA racer's build.

Last weekend I went to Portugal to collect the bodyshell. It is a '65 Austin 850 in excellent condition.
It only has some rust on driver's floor and A-panel.

Now it's time to remove paint and repair rust. Then, I will fit a Custom Cages rollcage.

I think I will have lots of questions, so thank you very much in advance for your answers!

First one. To get FIA HTP, what Mini homologation papers from FIA should I use, 1300 or 5028?

Looks like a great basis, always good when you can find a good shell to start with.

LOoks lika a good starting point

The paper use depends upon what spec you are building.... If you're building a 1275 cc;

#1300 for a pre-66 period F car

#5028 for a G1 (1966-'69) or G2 (1970-'71) class car.

First of all, happy new year to everybody!

We are planning the building of the FIA Mini, so we are making the parts list... And I have some questions about suspension setup.
It seems that adjustable arms, tie rods and camber brackets are not allowed, isn't it?

Then, how can I setup geometry? Height is adjusted machining trumpets but camber, castor and toe?
I've seen some FIA cars with adjustable lower arms and rear camber brackets (fixed) but if they are not allowed...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Doing a legal pre. 1966 FIA Mini is a tough job, and as you noticed your self a lot of cars are cheating.
You can file the rear brakets for camber and toe and then weld the washer to stop it moving, but the big job is to get the front right. Some use hydraulic to get the subframe out at the bottom, or maybe excentric bushes for the lower camber arm. But watch out for the max. track measure at the front which is very narrow.

You' ve found a straight body.
If you want to build a FÍA racer, try to meet the Portuguese people who RACE at the Gentleman drivers trophy. I met a Man who drives a ultra prepared Cooper. He might be bale to give you some tips.

just goes to show if u ferret around decent old shells can be found all over the world.. be nice to see the prog report on this one in pics .. foxy52
