Hi,

I have fitted poly bushes to the engine steady. This seems to put a lot of vibration through the dash etc. Will change these for some rubber ones. Which is the best to get for a more user friendly road car? I could get the

I have also heard the repro engine mounts are made from a much harder rubber which also does not help vibration, how can you tell a genuine engine mount, do they have mowog stamped onto them? Is this also the same for the remote mount?

If anything, I've actually found the engine mounts are getting softer these days. I've tried those from Mini Spares and also those in Rover bags (both the same from what I could tell).

Can't offer much on the one vs two piece steady rubbers, I tend to use the two piece type, as they are quite easy to fit. Gotta say, I've no complaints with them.

Original engine mounts do have MOWOG and the part number stamped into the metal part. Just bought a couple off eBay for a very reasonable price.

Repro. engine mounts tend to be a ba**ard to fit as they are too thick

I use the "uprated two-piece" MiniSpares bushes, but
I also have the stat housing tie-bars on the other side.
... and the lower transmission-case-forwards-to-subframe
one underneath.

As regards mounts, the only thing that I would say is that
the ones with the captive nuts are a pain-in-the-arse as
you can't align the holes by levering with a screwdriver
without ruining the threads.

I only bought them once... Once I'd got the holes aligned,
I couldn't get the screws in 'cos the threads were fkd!

Had the same problem turned out, they had metric nuts
