Original 1275 Cooper S intake manifold

Hello,
I am working on the restoration of a mk1 1964 1275 Cooper S. My emphasis is on originality and I am starting to look at the engine part of the rebuild. I plan to try to use the original AEG163 head but it does appear to have at least one crack so that will need some work (this is a different topic).

What I would like to know is are either of the following intake manifolds likely to have been original to this engine? The first is marked 12G299 (AEG594??). This was on the car when I purchased it some 25 years ago...

The second manifold I have is marked 12A661 (AEG347). No idea where I scrounged this one...
AEG347.jpg
Are either of these original and if not what is the consensus on the "most original" manifold that would suit this car (I believe it was built 3rdQ or 4thQ 1964).
Thanks
Gary

My 67 MkI S has the second one except its P2 and it doesn't have the raised boss for the casting number like yours. It has the same AEG 347 part number. I'm sure there are many versions.

Hi, the 12G299 (with number 594) is a MG1100 manifold at 10 degrees. As a mini requires 30 degrees it wouldn't fit.

The AEG347 is the proper one for your Cooper S (it's 30 deg.) The castingnumber 12A661 was the base and modified it became the AEG347 (sometimes the ground the casing number away)

Thanks very much for your replies. I did notice that the AEG 347 is not matched to the 1 1/4" bore diameter of the HS2 carb. Looks like it would also fit a 1 1/2" HS4?

I guess it is ok to transition from a smaller diameter carb into a larger diameter inlet manifold vs the other way around...

One other question; what is the correct spacer thickness per original? I am going to be using the original dual filter stamped steel airbox.
