Hoping someone can answer this for me - Bill maybe
What style exhaust silencer should my November 1960 built Morris Mini have - the crimped or the slightly oval, welded silencer type?
Thanks
Andrew

I would say a Welded type as fitted to the 59 minis .

But may be wrong for a 1960 ??

Bills site seems pretty certain that its a welded box.

Thanks Ian and Mark
Anyone else able to confirm or refute this ?
I'm interested to know as my car currently has a shortened floor start pick-up welded silencer exhaust. I have hanging up in my garage, a NOS floor start Unipart crimped box system.
I was going to fit this exhaust at some point but it has recently been brought to my attention that the welded type might actually be correct.
So, anyone able to say for definite ?
Cheers
Andrew

I believe it should be a 59 type welded silencer on your 60 car and not a crimped one
Up to chassisnumber 41984 Austin or 33302 Morris, its the same partnumber as the 59 type
Beyond those numbers, I cant prove anything , but have seen photos of a very lowmilage 62 Super , which also had the 59 type welded silencer.
