Lost your car's original number plate? Want to find out what it's now on? Here's a useful little search, just type in the number..hey presto.

https://congestioncharging.tfl.gov.uk/b ... eVRM.faces

As an example here's a few famous Mini number plates I found : CMC 77 is on a Jaaaaaaag, MC 58 is on a Beemer, 1 ELY's on a Merc as is Ralph Broad's 111 CON, Roger Clark's 2 ANR is on a VW LT35, W&P : 1LPJ is on another Beemer (what is it with drivers of German cars??) but Mick Clare's YMJ 681 is still on a Mini and according to the search John Lennon's LGF 696D also apparently exists! Hours of fun on there.

Interesting. However.. T500 BEE lists as being on a Black VX Ashtray (one of my old ones, horrid shed of a thing, real ID is YG05 AHE) BEE is actually on retention and will probably end up on our Five door Cooper.

K29 CBL (which I forgot to take off the Mk3 Golf GTi it was on when I px'd it to sell on :? ) still shows against the Golf even though the DVLA don't recognise the plate on anything (possibly on retention or a victim of the scrappage scheme)

I wonder where it's sourcing it's data from..

this one is better than the tfl site - much quicker

https://www.cartell.ie/ssl/servlet/begi ... on=k29+cbl

this is very handy for pulling chassis numbers of reg numbers - you have to register
