I,m rebuilding an hs2 to replace my knackered old one. i'm fitting a new jet tube and seal but I cannot get the nut to engage in the float chamber. maybe I'm getting old but ican't push the nut in enough.

Have you checked there are no remnants of the old seal still in the threaded hole?

+1 on Surfblue's suggestion to check for remnants of the old seal left in the float bowl.

The only other thing I can suggest is the thread has gone in your float bowl. :o

or the original rubber seal is still in there, but is hidden behind the original metal washer - so it looks like nothing is in there!

ive been caught out with this before, there is just enough thread showing to suggest that the new nut will screw in, but the old junk holds the tube off just enough for the new nut not to be able to start.

you need to get in with a tiny little pick and make sure that the hole is clean

There are 90 and 100 thou jets. Maybe the threads are different sizes.

there definitely is nothing in there. the thread in the float chamber doesn't look too clever, I,ll try and find another.
