I've come across this in my garage whilst having a sort out . I know the obvious , dog gears but that's it . Would the technical amongst you be able to shed any light on it . Is it even for a mini ? . There's no point in storing this in my garage collecting dust , so is for sale . I don't like it when things are listed with no price but I really haven't got a clue on value ? . If it is indeed any use to anyone I'm open to suggestions ..... Ken

Looks like some old Hewland gears to me. Are there any letters/numbers etched on them? and what's the diameter of the layshaft?

I remember reading that dog gears were used for ease of rebuild and swapping ratios for tracks. This looks like a serious set of gears for some sort of race car. My guess is something like a Formula Other.
I imagine they are worth a fortune if they are in good order and you find out what they are. I second the Hewland.

Bob yes the gears are stamped up with letters / markings . In the shed the pic you've posted certainly looks like it . So seems like I have a set of hewland gears then . Absolutely no use to me , so I think eBay may be the way to go . Any idear on value ? ... Ken

You'll need to identify which type of gearbox they fit, I'm guessing they are for a Hewland Mk9 type 'box which were fitted to most single seaters from Formula Fords up to F3. Have a look at this site to identify what you have.
