Its been a while since I fitted interior fuel / brake / main electric lines inside a car, other than Demon Tweeks ripping me off, where is the best place to shop for aeroquip / goodridge type hoses & connections, or any other ideas that anyone uses for comp use

it's times like this i wish i had taken pics of all the others i've done in the past ... must be my age !!

on my race car I just used knunifer for the brake and fuel (all be it that the fuel was 5/16) and then bought a roll of battery cable and just put the ends on it.

doing the pipes in 'hard pipe' takes a bit of time so it looks all nice and neat, but its worth the effort.

I don't like long runs of areoquip for two reasons, 1) it can be easily damaged, ie from a electrical short, or a mig spark (and is difficult to see the damage), or can just be nipped or pinched. there is also a train of thought that long runs of brake line can pulse or swell, and alter brake pressure/pedal feel

its also very expensive!

Better to use solid pipe.

Well that sounds like a good cheaper option Rich, and will look abit more 'period'

Ive been looking at some pics of your race car build Mark, have you got any internal ones with routing ?, maybe you have Rich ?

I routed all mine externally as per standard spec. Didn't see the point in going inboard on a race car.

suppose you have a point, all my other comp cars have been used for rallies !, this won't be.

In a rally car I would route them internally, but then again, I wouldn't be driving in a Rally as I'm even worse on the rough stuff than I am on Tarmac.

you maybe should have, after that visit into the gravel trap at brands......

If you are still after braided hoses and fittings,

Try goodridge direct at there silverstone branch or Atec autotechnic in brackley.

Both will sort you out.

the black wire going into the companion box is the transponder



the blue wire is the feed for the starter switch



the black battery wire runs along the tunnel, away from anything else, the red pulls are for the cut off and the extingisher



brake bias mounted on dash, out the way



brake pipe runs out the way, into the engine bay



brake pipe runs along drivers sill



thin black tube is extinguisher line, thick cable is battery, it runs along the subframe away from anything.





someone did comment to me that it would be better if the brake pipe didn't run between the cage and the floor, as it could be 'nipped' in the event of a crash, I pointed out that if I had done enough damge to nip a brake pipe, I would probably beyond the point of actually needing to press the brake pedal to slow down!

It is much easier to drive without having an accident.

Mine are similar to Rich's but both on the same side. In hindsight I wouldn't have run them down the sill as, in the rally car, it could take a twat and you'd still carry on - if a pipe was nipped, or worse fractured, it could be an issue.
I do have some nice push in type clips you might like

Brake line down the o/s side of the tunnel in 3/16ths brake pipe, fuel line down the n/s sill in 5/16ths pipe and the battery cable down the o/s sill.

I can see someone else, who could do to invest in one of these

Well my concern was making it neat, that might just be the answer, nice one Smiffy !

Yeah like the above pictures, mine are neat but no where near straight.
