I am looking for a 4 Synchro Remote Type Gearboxcase.
Are there any diferences a part from the Gears inside?
i just need the Case because i am building a new Dog Gearbox.
Does the Gearbox Case from a Mini 1000 from 72 will do the Job?
Regards Fabian

I think 4-synchro's are all the same except for the shifter .... remote or rod. Whatever you get make sure you get the matching diff cover. The faces for the diff side covers are machined with the diff cover and transmission case bolted together.

Have in mind the idler gear bearing is different between A and A+ although you can use this bearing to make an A+ box use an A idler gear.

Guess works have modified pre a+ cases to fit the later gearset too.

Ricardo is correct, the A+ boxes had a larger idler bearing...
Don't forget, this would also mean that the transmission case should
have a suitably sized bearing.
If there is a mis-match in the sizes of the bearing holes in the gearbox
and the transmission case, the MiniSpares adapter item will convert the
larger size back down to the smaller size.
On the basis that the new box will be a "Dog box", one would assume
that it would be taking a reasonable amount of torque through it. This
would suggest that the larger/stronger/later type would be the type to
go for. An A+ gearbox AND an A+ transmission case would be required.

Many thanks for your replys!
I already got the Drop Gears from Swiftune with the beefy Bearing in the Idler Gear.
Hope now that i find the right Box on the Scrapyard on Sathurday...

The original question pertained to remote shift which an A+ motor does not have. I believe MkIIIs
had remote shifters up to 73 but changed to rod there after, so a 72 Mini 1000 transmission should be OK. Just make sure you get a 4-syncro remote box with a matching diff cover.

Small thing and probably not an issue in the case, but reverse gears between Rod and Remote are different.
