Hi!

I need your help please.
I´m currently restoring my 67 Cooper S MKII. As I was told by the BHMT it is one of the first production cars of the MKII.
The first destination of my car was as in subject the "Earls Court Motor Show London" in the year 1967.

The body number is 103 (the holy bible says, that at 101 the series production did start).

I would be very pleased to recieve any illustrated information about my car.

The car was coloured sandy beige/snowberry white.

Thanks a lot
Kindest Regards
Marco

Do you know if your car had any chromed bits and bobs that it wouldn't normally have?

Didn't the first Mk2 Coopers get fitted with coloured interiors ?
Urban myth perhaps but definitely remember an island blue/white car with grey interior on Ebay some years ago.
In which case yours would/should have beige ?

Hi!

Maybe it has got something chrome plated, but I cannot say, cause i bought it in fully dismantled and boxed condition. The car was dismantled 25 years ago.

The first owner told me, that he had seen displayed it at the show and he bought it directly there. He has to wait some months till it was delivered to Austria. He wanted to have exactly that car which was displayed and no other, but I do not know why, I have to ask him once again, but its a little bit difficult, because he has dementia.

Regards
Marco

Yes, the very early cars were indeed supplied with coloured interiors (I used to own one).

Would be great to see some photo's. What did the heritage cert have on it ?

Hi!

Last sunday I have repaired my twin HS2 carbs as I got all the parts back fresh zinc plated.
I´ve prepaired the inlet manifold for a better gas-flow and also made special rings to center it,
as the original rings are to thick and also have sharp edges.

After that I dismantled my rockers.
They became all new bushes and a new shaft.

Next thing is the gearbox. I´m currently waiting for the ordered parts to do the full rebuild job.
The case (333) is now ready for the internals, I had to weld over 30 fins, which were broken off.

Pics will follow in my picasa.

Regards
Marco

I'll find some photos and I'm sure I've got a copy of the Heritage Certificate somewhere. By the way, the car was a MkII Cooper - not an 'S'.
