Hi all,

I've been trying to put some photos up of my project car (as it's coming towards the end), but everytime I do, it states that the files are too big. Tried shrinking the photos, saving as a different file type, to no avail. Any tips?

Also want a picture in my signature!

Cheers,
Joel

Get a photobucket account, host the pictures there and insert the Img links.. that's what I've done on my thread

What software are you using to change the size of the photos??

You need to compress the file, not re-size it.

If you use microsoft office picture editor (bundled with most OS's nowadays), open the jpeg, click the "edit pictures" tab, click "compress" and then select how small (in kilo-bytes) you want it.

Great instructions. Would anybody be able to advise what is a suitable size to compress the picture to?

Try it out, but 100k to 500k will probably do.

As you've found, if the file is too large, this web-site will reject it.

I take a photo with my I phone and send it to myself via email . Before you press send it says what size . I choose medium and press send . I then open the email and save the picture . The picture is now at a size to use on this forum . Mark I will show you when your round next . It's simple ..... Ken

I resize all my pictures for uploading. To resize them I use Microsoft Office programme that came with my lap top.

1. Click on picture
2. Click on Resize
3. Click predefined Width and Height. I use size Large Document 1024x760, but 800x600 will work just as well.
4. Click OK

Also if you click on the left hand button below Shortcuts.. you can open all the pictures in one file and resize then all in one go.
