I've just bought this on ebay :D

Apparently NOS in the box, never fitted!

I've found it in one of Mark's catalogues (what an excellent resource!), made by Styla. That's the only one I've been able to find so far.

Has anyone ever seen one of these fitted to a car? I'll have to wait a couple of days until it turns up to see what it'll look like on my car...

Great find.

I thought it looked like some old window frames with some that expanded metal you get in Halfords stuck in them.

Super Accessories, not Styla.

Very nice find all the same.

I don't think I've ever seen a disposable BBQ before until now! And it does look just like this grille. What has be seen cannot be unseen

It does look like that too! It must be pretty old too, judging from the catalogue images.

It was in two Super Accessory catalogues... The other one had "Styla Accessories" written on it

And it's also in the Styla catalogue. I'm guessing that they were made by Styla and also sold by Super Accessories (or vice versa) ? I'd been wondering about the flat panel at the back there, but it makes sense if it's a distributor shield..

That must have been where this one came from. I wonder how many other ones he had?

I went in there in the early nineties when I was up in Sydney for work and met John Smidt. He had a big pile of those grilles, I reckon he'd had them from new. They were cheap - but they looked it too! As I recall he also had a pile of those horrible goldy coloured hubcaps (probably like "G" in the brochure above) which had the same same badge in the middle. Back then they just looked outdated, cheap and nasty, with the passing of time they've become sort of retro kitsch, but I don't think I'd use them on my car

You know, he may still have some...

Tim

Interesting that!

I wasn't aware of a tie up between Styla & Super.

This needs some research :-)

There you go, there is always something more to learn ;)

The grille turned up last week.. It's not the most solid thing ever made, but at least it is shiny! As you might have noticed from the pictures, none of the holes line up to screw it onto a car, and I'm not keen on drilling holes to make it fit. I'm sending it back from whence it came (eBay), and hopefully someone will like it..
