Footman James Classic Car Show Manchester - September 20/21

Post by Pete »

Been to this excellent indoor event a couple of times and OK it's not on the same scale as the NEC but it's not the same price either and they don't charge you to park your car!

http://www.manchesterclassiccarshow.com/

It's a really good day out, there's a rally stage , trade and jumble stalls, restoration demos, interview stage and I'm having a little gathering of Minis (and a certain Mini engined GT car ;) ) there on the day , look for the MCR display!

We have two Mk1 998 Coopers (one rally car), a Mk1 1275 S, a Mk2 S and a recent "barn find" Mk3 S that last weekend only rolled out into the daylight for the first time in over 30 years, plus others. There's several other Mini clubs in attendance also.

I hope to see some of you at Event City over the weekend, maybe??!!

I'll get me coat. :D

We (MCR) have some nice cars on display and this one's also there apparently, though I'm not familiar with it...

I'm sure you will have a cracking weekend Pete. I'm only sorry that I can't make it over. This weekend has suffered the worse event overcrowding" of the year. I think there were 4 different things that I wanted to go to.

Will the Unipower be on display?

Great show with some really nice and interesting cars. Pete - that barn find S is cracking, almost a shame to do anything with it other than make it MoT-able!

Saw the vid of the GTM moment. Ouch! Concrete and fibreglass don't make good friends!

Derek's son was driving, Derek was inundated with offers of help to fix it within hours by all accounts and is determined to get it fixed pretty quick.

Car S.O.S presenter Fuzz Townsend was all over the Mk3 Rat!

Its a shame about Nicks little off at the show, I got a call from him this morning, and after a few calls we have located some of the COX specific parts already.

It'll fix

I'm so relieved to hear that the CCC GTM will be fixed in pretty short order, it was great to see it out at Blyton last year & it has always been one of my most favourite GTM's of all time.
