Given the other prices, I assumed that was a typo?

I went up there in '94 - nearly bought an Almond Green 1071.. Talked about px'ing my 850 for it but decided against it. I didn't like the look of the welding it needed (which by today's standards wouldn't very much at all)
It was the one that got away!

Anyone got pic's of the 1966 LHD Black Radford hatchback or know anymore about the car?

Empson displayed some of those cars at 'Mini 35' at Silverstone as I recall, most people fell about when they saw the price of the 'earliest S in the world', which as I understood wasn't proven. I'll have to look through some of my old photos and see if the Radford's there (there were a few, but I can't recall a black hatch). In fact that 'HAM' fake Radford with the Merc lamps was also there.
He traded under a few different company names as you can see by the header, some of which went tits up, always a sign of a dodgepot.

The sheer volume of cars for sale is amazing isn't it......... a choice of 30 woody Mk1 estates
I doubt there are 30 for sale in the whole world now! I wonder how many of those "running restoration projects" ever got restored? I know that Mr Empson exported a lot of cars, so many of the cars he advertised will no longer be in the UK of course. A LOT of Mk1s must have gone through his hands back then.

Even back then i would say that was a very large volume.
Or was it more a marketing ploy. portraying a high profile image.

I think many of the woodies are in Japan now.
I talked with a friend, who has been in Japan at the Japan Miniday.
He was impressed of the lots of restored top condition Woodies there.

That possibility did cross my mind too but there's no doubt that he bought and sold large numbers of these cars and that many were sold abroad. A "woody" Mini estate is a rare thing here in the UK now

I reckon that the 1990's incarnation of "Broadspeed" must have been contortionists. They spent that much time blowing their own trumpet I am surprised that they didn't do themselves permanent back damage!
The company is still functioning, but they moved on from Minis to doing "Grey Imports" now it isn't clear exactly what they do, they describe themselves as "middle men".

Looked up the postcode on google maps
There is still a Mini specialist at this post code "TWR Mini Specialists"
Their phone number is same number as Broadspeed one
